Pak Lifters ("we", "us", "our") connects buyers and sellers of forklifts, cranes, and material handling equipment across Pakistan. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our website, and how we use it.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only what's needed to run the marketplace and keep it safe:

• Account information — your name, email address, phone number, city, and password (stored securely, never in plain text).
• Seller information — shop name, owner name, CNIC (optional, for verification), and business details if you register as a seller.
• Listings — titles, descriptions, prices, and photos you upload for equipment you list.
• Messages — chat messages between buyers and sellers, kept for 30 days and then automatically deleted.
• Usage data — basic technical information like IP address and browser type, used for security (e.g. detecting suspicious login attempts) and to keep the site running smoothly.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and secure your account, including sending one-time codes (OTP) for verification and login.
• To let buyers and sellers communicate through Chat and Call features.
• To review and verify seller accounts and listings before they go live.
• To send you notifications about your account, listings, or messages.
• To detect and prevent fraud, spam, and abuse of the platform.

3. What We Don't Do

• We don't process payments or handle money on your behalf — deals are made directly between buyers and sellers.
• We don't sell your personal information to third parties.
• We don't show your phone number publicly unless you (as a seller) specifically request it and it's approved.

4. Chat & Contact Information

To help keep transactions on-platform and safe, our chat system automatically detects and hides phone numbers and addresses shared in messages. This is a safety feature, not a guarantee — please use your own judgement when arranging to meet or inspect equipment.

5. Data Retention

• Chat messages are automatically deleted 30 days after being sent.
• If you delete your account or it's removed by an administrator, your data is moved to a temporary holding period (30 days) before permanent deletion, in case of accidental removal.
• You can request deletion of your account and data at any time by contacting us (see the Contact page).

6. Security

We take reasonable technical measures to protect your information, including encrypted password storage, secure sessions, and rate-limiting to prevent abuse. No online system is 100% secure, but we work to keep yours as safe as possible.

7. Your Choices

• You can update your profile information any time from your account settings.
• You can log out of any device from your settings page.
• You can request a copy of your data or ask us to delete your account by contacting support.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time as the platform grows. We'll update the date at the top of this page when we do.
